Portfolio monitoring, results frameworks and reporting, linking impact to financial performance.

Carbon markets

The problem: China was building a national emissions trading system and needed capacity in key sectors.
What I did: Capacity building and sector policy for aviation and cement at GIZ, with government officials and industry leaders.
What it led to: Part of the groundwork for the national system, which launched in 2021.

Impact management

The problem: A blended finance fund active in 30 countries needed sound impact data for its donors.
What I did: Assessed impact frameworks and sub-lending loan books at Finance in Motion, validating indicator logic.
What it led to: Findings fed directly into the donor reporting the fund depended on.

AI and automation

The problem: Reviewing annual performance reports by hand consumed a climate fund’s portfolio team.
What I did: Built and piloted an NLP tool at the Green Climate Fund to review reports and capture lessons learned at scale.
What it led to: Time returned to portfolio management instead of document processing.
